Happy New Year everybody. Yes we have been a bit quiet lately...enjoying the summer, what little summer we are having!
We had a great year 2011 with the Pulse tours and really appreciate all the support we got. Thanks if you came out and supported us last year!
South Africa was a pretty tough tour and a couple of us getting food poisoning in the last week wasnt really ideal, worst thing was it made drinking beer really hard. We did have a great time though and it was awesome to visit there again and catch up with friends plus we made plenty of new friends! As always the hospitality there was second to none especially Pachas Cherry Room in Pretoria and Scrooges in Randburg. You guys were amazing!! and your food was exquisite!
As usual we bought heaps of shit at the Joburg markets which was a fair mission to get back home. We must look a right sight, usually a dozen or so of us all rushing around buying stuff you'd never normally buy...its so cheap, cheap guns, knives, leathers, plus all sorts of made in China plastic rubbish that disintergrated when you opened the packet and it came into contact with air. Brought a nice Djembe drum for like a hundred NZ so that sort of thing is cool.
One market we went to, at the very first stall right inside the gate we got offered weed, Coke and ecstasy and as you wandered around you were constantly ambushed by groups of weed dealers trying to tell you their shit was better than everyone elses....its funny coz it was all dry, twiggy, seedy crap you wouldnt smoke unless there was nothing else...well guess what?
As much as we had a blast it was great to get back home to little old NZ where safety isnt such a huge issue. Its nice to be able to walk to the dairy...and by yourself!
Few of us are off to see Roger Waters in a couple of weeks, performing The Wall....that going to be awesome and hopefully very inspirational for our next production.
We wish everyone the best wishes for 2012 and hope to see you in our travels at some stage.

Many Thanks NZ
Hey on behalf of all the band and crew we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us on our recent Pulse 2011 New Zealand Tour!
We had an amazing tour with awesome feedback where ever we played. We had a standing ovation at every show, bar one, dunno what happened there? But yes the crowd response was fantastic everywhere and we were really humbled by it!
We really worked our arse's off to make this the best show we could and it really paid off. Once again thanks so much to everyone who attended the shows and especially those who came to more than one show. Met one guy who came to Napier, Palmy and Wellington...amazing support eh!
We also want to say a big thanks to our sponsors, Radio Hauraki, Music Plant, Woodstock, Stevens Ford and Yamaha Audio. You guys are awesome too!
Some great punter reviews here at... http://reviews.ticketmaster.co.nz/7171-en_nz/890996/the-pink-floyd-experience-reviews/reviews.htm
A few stories to tell, but we just have to get some paperwork out of the way and catch up on a bit of sleep!
keep safe

Wow!!

The guys just did their 1st show of their NZ tour on Sat night in Invercargill and it was amazing!!
You have to come see this show.....its Floyd like you wouldnt believe.
The band have really stepped up to another level musically. With the addition of NZSO percussionist Jeremy Fitzsimons and Saxaphonist Roger Rangitaawa now playing rhythym guitar plus the most stunning sound system and a mind blowing light show, this is as good as it gets and as close as you'll get to Pink Floyd.
The sound is huge without being overbearing and the detail is incredible, every nuance audible and sitting perfectly in a 3 dimensional soundscape like you've never heard before. The best NZ production you will see this year!
Check out the photo from fridays rehearsal....more to come
Now for the bad news.
The band left me in Invercargill, they decided after 4 years they couldnt tame the beast in me, its genetic.....yes, so now I'll be looking after the blog from down here, the guys reckon they'll update me regularly....and dont forget if you own a cat and a garden gnome, please tell your cat 'we dont like being pissed on!
Good luck on th rest of the tour guys!

New Christchurch show
Due to the recent earthquake in Christchurch we have had to relocate our Christchurch show. Instead of the Town Hall we will now be performing at the Canterbury Arena.
Tickets are now on sale at www.ticketek.co.nz
Sales are going really well for the NZ tour and we anticipate a number of sold out shows!
We have been rehearsing flat out and also breaking in the new percussionist, plus putting huge demands on our Sax player, Roger, who's also going to be playing rhythym guitar. 2 bald guitar players, thats gonna be interesting....maybe we can bounce the lasers off their heads...instead of using mirrors. Its sounding huge!
Also working on all the production stuff, the new light shows going to be mind blowing as well as a new sound system...wicked! We are really excited about the new show and cant wait to get on the road!
See ya's soon
